Autistic Spectrum Disorder
For countless people with autism, the world can be a bewildering place. The condition causes developmental problems, making it hard for individuals to interact socially. They may struggle to converse and lack social imagination, finding it difficult to interpret what is happening around them.
Trimar Care provides a range of services to support adults with autism, by offering Supported Living services in their own home or in a shared supported group home.
Wide range of impairment
Autism is frequently referred to as autistic spectrum disorder, or ASD. There is also a wide variety of impairment, which includes Asperger’s Syndrome. Some people are able to live reasonably independent everyday lives, while others will need constant support.
Specialist training
People who have autism may also have learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and mental health requirements, areas where Trimar Care has extensive experience and for which staff receive specialist training. We do not see autism as a disability, but as a differentiation in the way that people think, learn and feel. Our aim is to support every individual and provide a routine which reduces anxiety, builds on success.
