We do this, from the beginning, by involving people who use our services and their families, carers and care managers, in creating their own unique person-centred plan that takes into account their individual abilities, wishes, preferences, ambitions, aspirations and needs (including health needs), to enable them to live full lives in their local community. This plan will look at where each person will live, with whom (if not alone), who will support them and how, as well as identify their lifestyle choices. It will also highlight how and with whom they would like to spend their time. Of course, each person using our services is involved in the selection procedure for their support workers where appropriate.
Adapting to changing requirements
We also recognise that people’s wishes and requirements change over time, which is why we hold consistent individual meetings with people using our services in order to monitor and assess the services we offer, and adjust the strategy accordingly.
Philosophy
Trimar Care believes fervently in helping every person reach their full potential, using our wide-ranging services to provide the care and support required. Our approach to supporting and enabling people with an assortment of needs is based on Trimars’ philosophy which upholds each person has a right to take control of how their service is planned and delivered where able.
Supporting the individual
Through person-centred methods and planning, all services and support will be tailored to each person’s needs and will be comprehensive in nature dealing with all major aspects of a person’s life, including social, educational, vocational, financial, recreational and leisure activities.
We believe that every person, irrespective of severity of need or impairment, has the ability to grow, learn and develop, and this can be improved by ensuring people have access to their community and to conventional resources.
Citizenship
We believe that each person should be supported to take on their rightful role as active people in their own community. We also know that people’s tastes and preferences will change over time, so our values supports the provision of a flexible service to allow for the changing needs of each person to whom we provide a service.
